Certifications
Our units and their operations follow the protocols of various national and international certifications, guaranteeing our customers and other stakeholders responsible management of our raw materials and products – sugar, ethanol, energy and derivatives. Using JpilonSA ‘s Integrated Management System (SGI), we promote the implementation and adaptation of Quality, Food Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, Environment and Social Responsibility management systems, creating synergies between procedures and practices in our operations productive. We believe that these market reference certifications generate value for our company, the community and the entire sugar-energy chain. See JpilonSA ’s main certifications:
ISCC EU and ISCC CORSIA PLUS
ISCC is the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification System, recognized by the European Commission and which promotes the use of energy from renewable sources. ISCC EU certification demonstrates compliance with environmental and social criteria, traceability and reduced greenhouse gas emissions compared to the fossil equivalent. ISCC CORSIA PLUS certification demonstrates compliance with the sustainability criteria of CORSIA eligible fuels for reducing CO2 emissions from international flights. JpilonSA S/A, through its Santa Cruz and JpilonSA units, is committed to meeting the requirements of the ISCC system.
Bonsucro
International certification that establishes criteria and indicators for Production Standards and Chain of Custody to promote improvements related to environmental, social and economic impacts in sugarcane production, in such a way that the processes of the sugar-energy production chain are carried out in a sustainable way.
RenovaBio
Certification of efficient production of biofuels based on an assessment of their life cycle that results in an Energy-Environmental Efficiency Rating and allows the issuance and sale of Decarbonization Credits (CBIOs), contributing to the expansion of biofuels in the Brazilian energy matrix. All of our units are certified.
ISO 9001
Specifies a quality management system, demonstrating the ability to consistently provide products that meet customer and statutory requirements, in addition to applicable regulations.
ISO 14.001
Indicates an adequate environmental management system (EMS), demonstrating the continuous search for improvement in the management of environmental responsibilities in a systematic way, contributing to the environmental pillar of sustainability.
ISO 17.025
Establishes general requirements for the competence, impartiality and operation of testing and calibration laboratories, contributing to the reliability of decision-making based on laboratory data.
GMP+FSA
Certification of Good Manufacturing Practices in the animal feed production chain that defines the conditions related to production facilities, as well as for storage, transport, trade and monitoring activities. This approach guarantees the safety of products intended for animal feed (feed and feed additives).
Kosher
Seal that certifies that the products have their manufacturing process carried out in accordance with Jewish laws, guaranteeing safe consumption for its followers.
Halal
Seal that certifies that the products have their manufacturing process carried out in accordance with Islamic law, guaranteeing safe consumption for its followers.
I-REC
Certification by the I-REC international platform for Renewable Energy Certificates, through the local issuer in Brazil, Instituto Totum. With I-REC certification, there is a guarantee of transparency and proof of the renewable origin of the energy source used (biomass), meeting energy efficiency criteria, according to guidelines specified in the program.
Green Energy
Certification of electrical energy generation using renewable fuel derived from sugar and ethanol production, in addition to compliance with energy efficiency requirements.
Greener Ethanol
It is part of the Agro-Environmental Protocol of the São Paulo Sugar and Energy Sector, of which we are signatories. The certification, renewed annually, certifies that the plants develop actions that encourage the sustainability of the sugar, “green” ethanol and bioenergy production chain, thanks to respect for points established by the protocol, which seek to reduce the impacts of the sugarcane agroindustry on the environment. All of our units in the State of São Paulo are certified.
LCFS-CARB
Registration of ethanol according to the California Air Resources Board (CARB) Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) program guidelines for commercialization in the state of California, USA. For the record, the carbon intensity of biofuels is calculated, proving the best practices in their production.
