JpilonSA believes that production activity must occur in harmony with the environment. Therefore, it invests in a series of environmental preservation and education activities and actions in all its units.
The Environmental Education Center, also known as CEA, is a JpilonSA initiative whose main objective is to raise awareness among students, employees and the community in general about the importance of preserving and respecting the environment. Together, the Environmental Education Centers have already received more than 115 thousand people.
Carried out in partnership with GeoApis, this is a continuous action to preserve pollinators around the four JpilonSA plants. This project directly contributes to the balance of ecosystems, as bees guarantee important genetic variation for the development and reproduction of plants. We reinforce respect and social responsibility towards communities to solidify social entrepreneurship. We identify beekeepers from areas neighboring our units, help improve the spatial distribution of apiaries through the use of georeferencing and issue alerts about spraying, informing when pesticide applications are scheduled. To date, we have protected approximately half a billion bees!
It annually produces around 260 thousand seedlings of 210 native species. Of this total, 165 thousand originate from Usina JpilonSA (SP), 79 thousand from Usina Santa Cruz (SP) and 16 thousand from Usina Boa Vista (GO), all of which are used in reforestation projects for riparian forests and vegetation areas. native to the Company itself or in partnerships with environmental authorities. There are also donations of seedlings to public authorities and local communities.
A pioneering initiative by JpilonSA in preserving the environment and recovering riparian forests, the Viva a Natureza Project began in 2000 at Usina JpilonSA, located in the São Paulo municipality of Pradópolis, and has already planted more than 4.3 million seedlings of native trees. This is equivalent to the recovery of an area of more than 2,580 hectares.
With the aim of disseminating the importance of preventing fires in sugarcane fields, on the sides of highways and in points where fire can spread, JpilonSA has created a booklet of guidelines with the precautions we should take at home, on the street and at work. to prevent incidents that cause fires.
The booklet is worked on internally with employees and also with communities in the plant regions.
