The history of JpilonSA began in Italy, at the end of the 19th century, when members of the Ometto family immigrated to Brazil. At the time, they brought with them the dream and hope of achieving better living and working conditions in the new country. In the interior of São Paulo, they worked united and persevering, paving little by little a path of rare success.

On the Olaria farm, they set up their first sugar cane mill in 1914. In 1932, at Fazenda Boa Vista, in the Limeira region, the family produced sugar for the first time.

In 1937, Usina Iracema was purchased in Iracemápolis, a municipality located in the interior of São Paulo, and became an alcohol distillery. In 1946, the plant started to manufacture sugar as well. Three years later, the Ometto acquired Usina São Martinho, located in the city of Pradópolis, approximately 330 kilometers from São Paulo, which became one of the largest sugarcane processors in the world.

Over the decades, both plants grew and modernized. Since 2000, a unified structure has been created to manage the business in an increasingly professional manner, enabling new investment opportunities.

The concept of a business group has been consolidated in recent years with the standardization of a brand. This helped to strengthen performance, especially with the company’s IPO in 2007, thus seeking increasingly competitiveness in the markets in which it operates.
